The reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic has shown once again the power of the arts and entertainment industries, with many seeking comfort and joy through music, art, dance, film and television.
Although we can’t pack an entire movie cinema (or congregate at any trampoline parks) the way we used to, the entertainment industry has been quick to deliver everything from TV cast reunions on Zoom and TikTok skits, to Instagram concerts and movie screening parties these past few months.
The latest pivot in the form of communal movie viewing comes as drive-in cinemas experience a revival!
The folks over at Mov’In Bed have shifted their cinema experience in Sydney for the time being with the introduction of Mov’In Car!
Mov’In Car is a new drive-in cinema set up on the rooftop of the Entertainment Quarter carpark, screening classic blockbusters, newer flicks and family favourites.
A car with a maximum of five people can drive in and use their car or digital radio to tune in to listen. A licensed bar is available for drinks (no BYO) while you can also order New York-style pizza to your car!
