Australia has claimed its first medal in the women's beach volleyball in 21 years.

Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy are bringing home silver after a tough match in Tokyo against USA with a score of 21-15; 21-16. This is America's fourth straight gold medal in volleyball.

Mariafe and Taliqua are the country's most successful beach volleyball players since Sydney's 2000 Olympics.

In an act of sportsmanship, the Aussie team congratulated USA's April Ross and Alix Klineman.

This is Australia's sixth gold medal and 42nd overall for the Games.
