300 employees have been evacuated from Beef City abattoir at Aubigny due to an ammonia leak early this morning.
Emergency services were called out to the abattoir around 5:25am.
Twelve people were tended to at the scene by paramedics with eight people being taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital
The eight people, believed to be workers at the abattoir, were taken to hospital for nausea and vomiting they are all in a stable condition.
The leak was believed to be under control by 6:30am.
