Burn offs will continue through the Darling Downs as we are being advised to act now.

Rural Fire Service Acting Regional Manager Tim Chittenden says conditions are dry and high amounts of frost is causing catastrophic conditions throughout the region.

He wants people to be mindful of anything that could cause a spark- including grinders, which have caused some small fires.

"It is very dry and people should be using extreme caution when outside doing anything that could create a spark,” he said.

"There has been a few fires where people have been a little bit careless with grinders or anything that is hot outside.”

He said residents should prepare their properties for the looming bushfire season and to ensure they have a valid fire permit from the fire warden, and follow the conditions from that permit.
