Cadbury Announces Plans To Reduce The Size Of Family Chocolate Blocks

Cost-cutting measures

7 February 2019

Cadbury has announced plans to reduce the size of their family chocolate blocks.

In a post on social media, the chocolate manufacturer explained that they’d be making the change due to rising costs.

“Unfortunately, over the last few years, we’ve seen our costs go up,” they wrote.

“Rather than raising the recommended retail price, we’ve made the call to reduce the size of our Cadbury family blocks, and also bring down the recommended retail price slightly, so that our blocks and continue to be an affordable treat for all Australians.”

In replies to fans, they clarified that the 200g blocks would be reduced to 180g.

In 2015 they reduced their family blocks from 220g to 200g.
