Could this be the Return of Gosford & Wyong Councils?

Ratepayers may get their say

1 February 2017

There may be a chance for ratepayers on the Central Coast to have their say on whether Central Coast Council should "de-amalgamate"

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian could announce a back flip on future council mergers at tomorrow's cabinet meeting.

It's believed, the Premier is considering halting mergers between regional and Sydney councils that have not already amalgamated.

Meanwhile, Channel Nine reports that for councils who have already merged, such as on the Central Coast, plebiscites could be held where ratepayers vote on whether to "de-amalgamate”.

A vote for the plebiscites could be as late as after the next election in 2019.
