A major collision in Yallourn North has claimed the life of a 7 year old girl.
Police were called to Brown Coalmine Road around 3.35pm yesterday afternoon following reports of a head-on collision involving a Holden Commodore and Honda Civic, just near Quarry Road.
The occupants of the Holden, a 29 year old woman and a 7 year old girl, were airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The girl has since died.
5 other people, including 4 children, were also taken Latrobe Regional Hospital by road ambulance.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash and are urging any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
