Investigations continuing by members of the Orana Mid-Western Police District team after a young man broke into an 73 year old woman's house on Monday night.
Occurring on Young Street, it is believed the male entered the address via a window before attacking the woman and demanding cash.
Able to flee the scene, the elderly woman suffered bruising and a split lip in the ordeal, later taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment and observations.
Described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, in his 20's and sporting a bald or shaven head, he was last seen running towards East Street.
