Firefighters remain busy in Hepburn and Hepburn Springs, managing to bring the Hepburn-Mannings Road fire under control this morning. As such, the area has been downgraded to a watch and act alert.

Residents are advised to monitor the situation, including being aware of school and road closures throughout the region. Currently roads at Midland Highway and Black Hepburn Road, and Main Road and Mineral Springs Crescent have undergone closures.

Authorities have urged residents whose properties have been affected by aerial water bombing or fire retardant activities to contact Hepburn Shire Council (5348 2306), and have also recommended testing water tanks for contamination, such as debris and ash.
