Regional cancer support group Hope Horizons and United Synergies, which oversees the Toowoomba Youth Service, have received a funding boost thanks to money that was raised at the 2017 Mayoral Prayer Breakfast.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio presented cheques for almost $5500 each to representatives from the organisations at City Hall.
Mayor Antonio said the Toowoomba Region community had displayed its generosity at May’s function and he was pleased to present Hope Horizons and United Synergies with funds to help them continue their work.
“This year marked the function’s 25th anniversary and I’m glad to report there has been a silver lining for our charity recipients with $11,000 raised,” Mayor Antonio said.
This brings the combined fundraising total over the past 25 years to $280,000.
