High-schoolers in Albany and Katanning hoping to get their driver's licence, will now have to take part in a party-education program.

Preventing Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y) aims to positively influence the decisions of young drivers, by highlighting the consequences of taking risks.

WA Country Health Service Regional Director, David Naughton, says students will go behind the scenes with authorities, and gain insight into major trauma caused by road incidents.

The program is aimed at 17-24 year-olds; who are currently over-represented in local road crash statistics.
