In response to the growing horror over the reported rise in violence against women, HitFM WA’s breakfast team Jesse and Juelz are hosting a series of simultaneous free women’s self-defence workshops in various locations across regional Western Australia.
Falling just after White Ribbon Day on Saturday 24th November, ‘Jesse & Juelz’s Fight for Change’ will be held in Bunbury, Northam, Esperance, Albany and Kalgoorlie, and will consist of a free 1 hour self-defence class for woman of all ages.
In addition to these classes, at each location there will be a representative from a local domestic violence service to talk about the services available in that area and also a representative from the local police to talk about women’s rights in DV situations and what we can do to help someone who are in current DV situations.
This is a day of action. We’re encouraging women from all walks of life to take a stand against violence towards women by coming along. If not for you, for someone you know or someone you may come across. Come and Fight for Change!- Jesse & Juelz
With local expert martial art instructors in each location, the aim is to arm women with realistic, can-do strategies to make a difference in their lives and community.
