The whole Mt Isa community is invited to attend a time of solidarity with our Isan Muslim and Polynesian communities this Friday, March 22 at 5:30pm at Good Shepherd Catholic College.
This short time of reflection will offer community members time to reflect and remember those who were killed & injured in New Zealand.
Order of Remembrance – Memorial Service
1: Welcome: Mick Lowcock – also College WHS, Barbara Sam to welcome and express condolence form Kalkadoon community, Jason Tawera – Polynesian community
2: Silence: bring in the 5 Prayer Mats by Muslim community to symbolise the 50 deaths & 5 large candles will be brought in to be signs of light in darkness.
3: Call to prayer – reading from Koran.
4: Flowers to be brought up.
6: Jason Tawera – Cry with Open Heart
7: Robert Katter to speak
8: Prayers from the people
9: Deep Peace on CD – to be followed by a sign of peace/comfort/solidarity.
10: Thank you
11: In silence –flower petals will be placed around the candles on the mats
12: Express condolences to New Zealand and Muslim people as you leave.
