Local public schools among the first to get new air conditioning units

Is your school on the list?

27 November 2018

48 public schools across our region are set to be among the first to have new air conditioning systems installed in their classrooms and libraries, under the Cooler Classrooms Program.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Education Minister Rob Stokes have announced a list of schools to be the first to receive funding under the $500 million program.

Schools in areas that have an average maximum January temperature of 30 degrees or higher will now automatically receive air conditioning, solar panels and smart systems are also being installed, so schools can offset their additional energy use.
