Major Shopping Centre Targeted in Break-in Operation

Stanthorpe Plaza has been hit by a serious break-in operation where offenders have made their entry through the roof of the complex.

Overnight, offenders have smashed a skylight in the roof and used rope to lower themselves inside the building.  Once the have gained entry they smashed the windows of four businesses.

Targeted were a hairdresser, novelty shop, newsagent and clothing store, police continued their investigations today to determine what, if anything, was stolen.

The damage was discovered when a cleaner showed up to the shopping centre around 3am this morning.

Police are carrying out preliminary inquiries, no one has been charged.
