The corner of Spurr Street and Prowse Road in Capel is the State Government's preferred location for a police station.
Eight-million dollars has been allocated to the development, which would reduce the amount of time officers currently respond to incidents.
Member for Collie-Preston Mick Murray says the addition will make regional policing a bit easier and the station should be completed by mid-2020.
Residents and business owners in Capel are encouraged to attend a community consultation meeting at the Capel Community Centre from 5.30pm on Thursday, February 21st.
WA Police representatives will be available to provide information on the station's design, local opportunities and benefits to the community and operational policing.
