Ray Ban Sunglasses Recalled Following Risk Of 'Eye Damage'

An urgent recall has been issued for certain Ray Ban sunglasses following concerns that defective pairs could cause eye damage.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued the recall following the discovery that the affected glasses "do not comply with the mandatory standard".

Some non-prescription lenses may not be strong or robust enough and may crack or break under pressure or there may be a variation between the left lens and the right lens.

The recall applies to Ray Ban brown tortoiseshell sunglasses sold (style RB4175) at Big W Optical Stores in NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria from November 2016 to January 2019.

If you have a pair at home, the ACCC has advised consumers should not use this product, and should return it to a Big W Optical store for a full refund.
