Sunwater has been confirmed as the proponent for the $352 million Rookwood Weir project.
The State Government allocating $66 million in the budget to see it go ahead.
Rockhampton MP Barry O’Rourke says, it will bring a lot of opportunity into Central Queensland, "There will be the agriculture side of stuff with the opening of more land for development, which will lead into other jobs. It also provides water security for Gladstone, for any industry development down there where water may be required."
