A 69 year old Berwick man has died at the scene after a light aircraft crashed into a paddock in Tanjil South on Friday afternoon.
Witnesses reportedly saw the single-engine Yakovlev Warbird doing figure-eights in the sky before plummeting to the ground near Moe-Rawson Road around 2:35pm.
Keith Astrella has been identified as the pilot and was the only occupant on board the aircraft at the time.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
