Members of the police force and friends and family of Detective Senior Constable Damien Knowles are pleading with the community to show their support, following a tragic diagnosis for the father of two.
Earlier this month Damien was diagnosed with incurable cancer of the biliary duct near his pancreas, and with chemotherapy his doctors say he may have a couple of years.
With the help of the NSW Police Legacy, his friends and colleagues are trying to raise much needed funds for his wife Krystle and two daughters, Indi and Maya, during this difficult time.
A.B & Ben caught up with Detective Inspector Peter O'Reilly this morning, who says the family are remaining positive as best they can.
