Parts of drought stricken New South Wales have a predicted 90 per cent chance of rain towards the end of this week, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

A heavy burst of rain is expected to make its way across the country from Western Australia, bringing a month's worth of rain in just two days. 

50mm is expected to fall in Sydney, while Tamworth and surrounding areas have between 75 and 90 per cent chance of showers as the system passes through NSW.
