Locals have had their dogs on a tight leash after word spread of dog baiting in the Moonee region. The 1080 poison, is a legal chemical normally buried in a shallow hole, used by the State Government to control pests such as wild dogs and foxes.

With signs of 1080 spotted in the normally dog friendly Moonee region, the RSPCA are advising dog owners to steer clear of the area all together.

The team had a chat with Kate from the RSPCA who explains the best way to avoid the poison and how to save your fur baby from the deadly treats.
