Public safety has been improved at the South Dubbo Weir, with a rock ramp and fishway completed. The upgrades to the site to be unveiled by Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council Ben Shields today.
The construction of the new rock ramp will see the water depth and turbulence around the weir decreased, reducing the risk of drowning incidents.
Meanwhile, the fish way will allow native fish stocks to move between Dubbo and Burrendong Dam more efficiently.
The site will be officially opened at midday.
