Victoria toughened restrictions around Sydney on Tuesday night, with travel being banned from seven of the city’s council areas.
The southern state were the last in the country to implement strict travel restrictions on commuters from Sydney.
Victorians who needed to return home were allowed to do so by acquiring a permit, but would be required to quarantine for fourteen days upon entry.
New Zealand also placed its travel bubble with New South Wales on hold after the announcement that the Bondi cluster had grown to 21 cases on Tuesday.
