Plans have been unveiled to build a medicinal cannabis factory in Wonthaggi, creating 20 ongoing jobs for the region.
MediPharm has confirmed the 3 million dollar project is expected to be up and running by the end of the year on the corner of Korumburra Road and Cyclone Street.
Oil will be extracted from over 100 thousand kilograms of cannabis for medicinal uses. MediPharm Labs director Warren Everitt is hopeful of having cannabis grown locally in the future.
