Victoria has recorded 7 new covid cases today out of more than 42,000 tests overnight.

A positive covid case has been identified as a traffic controller linked to the Moone Valley Racecourse testing clinic who was infectious in the community for two days.

Thankfully, the other 6 were in quarantine for their infectious period.

Meanwhile, Mildura has recorded a fifth local infection from the latest wave. However, there are no concerns for the community as they have been isolating for their entire infectious period. It's understood they are a household contact of the man who went to the AFL in Melbourne on July 10.
