The State Government has bowed to months of community pressure, officially announcing it will not proceed with plans to redevelop Wyong Hospital under a controversial private-public partnership.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard confirming the government will go it alone in leading the long promised 200 million dollar upgrade with public funding.
The decision has been universally welcomed, with staff, unions, Labor MP's and community members gathering outside the facility today to celebrate their big win after a near 10 month campaign.
